Successful Raid


Successful raids conducted by a joint team of officers from the Tukavesi Police Station and the Police Special Response Unit led to the discovery of more than 600 marijuana plants this week.

The plants were uprooted from different farms in the Kanakana farming area, Bagasau, Delai Vunimoli farming area, Devo Estate, and Nadavaci village in Cakaudrove.

Few farm owners have been arrested and were produced at the Labasa Magistrate Court while owners of other farms have yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, more than 1000 green plants believed to be marijuana were uprooted from a farm in Namalata, Kadavu this week.

The plants ranging from 11cm to 165 cm were discovered and the owner of the farm is yet to be identified.
