The Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu opened a one week Internal Affairs Tribunal Officer’s Workshop in the Western Division stressing the importance of effectively discharging their duties in accordance with the intent of winning public trust and confidence.
The workshop is aimed at empowering senior officers when assigned the role of a tribunal officer, to effectively adjudicate disciplinary matters focusing on procedural fairness, case management, legal compliance and professional integrity in tribunal proceedings.
Commissioner Tudravu said the workshop was in line with the organisation's strategic direction in restoring public trust and confidence by strengthening Ethics, Integrity and Professional Standards, identified as a critical pillar under the Australian Federal Police supported FPF Uplift Program.
Participants include senior officers from within the Western Division.
