Fiji’s High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea courtesy call to Compol

Fiji’s High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, His Excellency Jackson Evans has assured Fiji’s Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu of his support of working towards the formalisation of a police-police cooperation agreement with the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary.

The assurance was issued during a courtesy call to the Fiji Police Force yesterday (Monday 16th June 2025), where H.E. Evans was accorded a quarter guard ceremony of welcome, followed by discussions with Commissioner Tudravu, Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu and Director International Relations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula.

Discussions revolved around capacity building between the two police forces noting shared security challenges, as well as other specialised fields of policing.

H.E. Evans reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening law enforcement relations between Fiji and PNG, adding the formalisation of a Memorandum of Understanding directly between the two policing institutions would augur well in addressing shared security priorities.

Commissioner Tudravu said the FPF would support all endeavours by H.E. Evans, adding FPF has through bilateral arrangements worked with their PNG comrades in international joint operations, and looked forward to more engagements between the two policing institutions.
