Two men to be produced in court for possession of illicit drugs

Two men will be produced in court for two separate cases of alleged unlawful possession of illicit drugs namely methamphetamine.

In the first case the accused has been charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of Illicit Drugs, as a search conducted in his vehicle in Narere on the 1st of August 2025 resulted in the seizure of white substances confirmed to be methamphetamine.

The Criminal Investigations Department is also investigating the accused for being in possession of proceeds of crime as more than $2000 was also seized during the raid.

The accused will be produced at the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.

In a separate case, the accused was charged for one count of Unlawful Possession of Illicit Drugs, one count of Possession of Property Suspected to Being Proceeds of Crime and two counts of Breach of Bail.

The accused was arrested during a search conducted at a checkpoint in Wainadoi on the 31st of July 2025, where he was allegedly found with a large sum of cash and substances confirmed to be methamphetamine.

The accused will be produced at the Navua Magistrates Court.

Another man also arrested during the same operation, is now under investigation for a case of unexplained wealth as he was allegedly found with several thousands of dollars. in his possession.
