24 year old man charged for theft

A 24-year-old Police officer will appear at the Suva Magistrate court today charged with theft. 

It is alleged that in March last year, she stole more than $3,000.00 from a 66-year-old man of Sigatoka.

Following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the officer was charged with one count of theft, contrary to Section 291 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.

The was arrested yesterday and will appear in custody later today at the Suva Magistrate Court.

The officer is already on interdiction, having been earlier charged in a case of alleged extortion incident involving a Nasinu businessman.
