Networking between Fiji Truth and Reconciliation Commission and FPF

Members of the Fiji Truth and Reconciliation Commission met with the Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu and senior officers today.

The meeting held at the Fiji Police Force Headquarters was intended to enhance networking between the two organisations, as the Chairperson of the Fiji Truth and Reconciliation Commission (FTRC), Dr. Marcus Brand stated, that the strategic mandates of both institutions were closely aligned, towards providing the safe and peaceful setting for the people of Fiji to thrive.

Dr. Brand was accompanied by Commissioners, Mr. Rajendra Dass and Mr. Sekove Naqiolevu, where they provided a briefing on the work undertaken by the Commission since it was formally established through an Act of Parliament in December 2024.

The Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu assured the Chair and Commissioners of the Fiji Police Force’s support, appointing a senior officer as the point of contact, to assist the Commission with security needs that may arise during their work around the country.

Commissioner Tudravu said the Divisional Police Commanders are available to assist, as supporting the work of the FTRC will benefit all, in fostering unity and social cohesion for a peaceful Fiji for future generations.
