Three died in separate fatal accidents

Two women and a child became victims of three separate fatal accidents over the last two days.

The first accident occurred on the night of the 26th of September, 2025 along the Kings Road, near Vitogo in Lautoka. The 47-year old victim was traveling in a vehicle driven by a 27-year old man, which while overtaking bumped a truck coming from the opposite lane, causing it to veer off the road. 

The victim sustained serious injuries, which unfortunately led to her death.

The second fatal accident occurred along the Kings Road in Navola, Korolevu in Sigatoka ?on the afternoon of the 27th of September, 2025.

The victim, a 10-year old girl, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her father, which veered off the road, and hit a post. As a result the victim sustained injuries which allegedly resulted in her death. Her father and three others are admitted at the Sigatoka Hospital.

In the third alleged fatal, a woman in her 30s is the victim of an alleged hit and run accident in Suva last night. The victim was crossing along Stinson Parade when she was bumped by a vehicle, which failed to stop after the accident.

The victim was rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital where she was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are searching for the driver.

Investigations continue.

The national road death toll currently stands at 52 compared to 42 for the same period last year.
