41 year old arrested for bribery

A 41-year old man was brought in under arrest at the Sigatoka Police Station for allegedly trying to bribe a police officer during a joint operation with the Land Transport Authority.

The alleged incident occurred along the Queens Road near Koromumu on the morning of the 27th of September 2025.

The suspect was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a routine check.

The suspect allegedly offered $200 to the officer to release the vehicle, and a search conducted on the suspect resulted in the alleged discovery of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The suspect was arrested with the seized substances sent for analysis.

Investigations continue.
