Commissioner promotes PC Susana


The Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has promoted the winner of the Australasian Council of Women and Policing ( ACWAP ) Excellence in Law Enforcement in the Pacific region Award Constable Susana Ligaqaqa, to the rank of Corporal.

On Friday 26th September 2025, Commissioner Tudravu promoted Constable Ligaqaqa to the rank of Corporal, recognising her achievement at the ACWAP Awards night held in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday 18th of September.

A total of five members of the Fiji Police Force were finalists in two categories of awards namely the Excellence in Law Enforcement in the Pacific region Award and the Emerging Leader Awards. 

The finalists included Inspector Makitala Masira, Sergeant Latileta Ryland, Corporal Paulini Valaibulu, Corporal Susana Ligaqaqa and civilian Ana Naisoro.

PC Ligaqaqa who is based at Nayavu Police Post, was enlisted as a Special Constable in 2005 and was absorbed in 2020 hails from Nasaqa, Wailevu, Macuata with maternal links to Dakuinuku,Sawakasa,Tailevu.

The Excellence in Law Enforcement in the Pacific Region Award recognises and rewards the achievements of women and men, who are contributing to making law enforcement better for women in the Pacific region.

The Commissioner was provided a back-brief of the conference, as well as the AIPM Leadership conference attended by Inspector Vasemaca Naborisi and Inspector Loraini Kaitabu.

Also present was the Fiji Police Women’s Advisory Network National Coordinator Superintendent of Police (SP) Ruci Nasemira.

The Commissioner conveyed his congratulatory message to all women representatives, encouraging them to continue to empower other officers by sharing their knowledge and experiences.
