The United Nations Resident Coordinator for Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu, Mr Dirk Wagener paid a courtesy call to the Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu yesterday.
Mr Wagener congratulated Commissioner Tudravu on his appointment, acknowledging the Fiji Police Force's contribution in assisting countries coming out of a period of conflict as per the United Nations Peacekeeping mandate.
Mr Wagener also raised concerns by the United Nations over the rise in HIV/AIDS cases through the sharing of needles.
Other matters discussed were new trends of Online crime a challenge to global law enforcement.
Commissioner Tudravu said the Fiji Police Force was eager to explore capacity building initiatives under Mr Wagener's leadership tenure for the benefit of policing efforts, as addressing crime requires holistic approach by
