38 year old charged for scam

The Cybercrime Team has arrested and charged a 38-year-old unemployed man of Nadi Back Raod for 10 counts of Obtaining Financial Advantage through Deception.

It is believed that the accused dishonestly obtained $11,201.25 from 6 different victims.

Investigation revealed that , between April 2023 and Novemeber last year, the accused posted a different company's name on social media along with different mobile numbers, advertising plyboard, and floortimber.

Interested buyers had sent a deposit to his mobile number or his personal account number. The matter was reported to Police.

The accused is incustody and will be produced at the Suva Magistrate Court today.
