38 year old man charged for murder

A 38-year-old unemployed man of Vidogo Settlement in Vatuwaqa will appear at the Suva Magistrate court tomorrow charged for a count of Murder. 

It is alleged that on New Years Eve, the victim, a 32-year-old manager, joined the suspect with six others in a drinking party. 

Around 10.00am, on New Years Day, a fight started where the suspect assaulted the victim until he laid motionless on the floor. 

The suspect conveyed the victim to CWM hospital, where he later passed away. 

Investigation had established what had transpired from the statements of the six eye witnesses who were part of the drinking party. 

The suspect has been charged for one count of Murder contrary to Section 312 of the Crimes Act of 2009. 

He will be produced at the Suva Magistrate Court tomorrow.
