children that splashing water on moving vehicles is against the law.

Police are calling on all parents to inform their children that splashing water on moving vehicles is against the law.

The call comes after concerns brought up by a few motorists since the New Year.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu said a video has surfaced on social media in regard to a bus driver being the latest victim.

"Such actions can cause accidents which can lead to injuries or death. Please celebrate responsibly and don't throw water on moving vehicles," said ACP Driu.

He said people throwing water can be investigated under Section 15 of Minor Offences Act 1971.

Or Negligent Acts Causing Harm Section 269 of Crimes Act 2009.

"The offence can be elevated up to Murder depending on seriousness of injuries sustained by victims," said ACP Driu.

He adds that children are not aware of the serious consequence of their actions, and it's the parents' job to inform them.

He said even adults in communities can talk to the children doing such acts to stop.

"Police officers are around and will continue to monitor such incidents. Let's continue to be on a look out for each other and assist in everyone's safety."
