More arrest in drug Raids


Drug raids continue with more arrests and seizures made.

This afternoon, Navua Police arrested two men aged 32 and 38 years following the discovery of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

The two were travelling in a vehicle when they were stopped and searched by the team of officers.

In Kadavu, officers arrested a 24-year-old man from Wailevu, Ravitaki for an alleged case of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.

Officers based at the Kadavu Police Station were deployed to the Wailevu terrain where they uprooted more than 1,500 plants and loose dried leaves all believed to be marijuana.

All seized substances have been sent for analysis.

The Fiji Police Force is committed to reducing the supply of illicit drugs with operations in the five policing divisions covering the urban, rural and maritime areas.
