The Solomon Islands International Assistance Force contingent has been actively involved in community work as part of Fiji’s commitment to regional cooperation and the maintenance of peace and security on the island.
Activities have included the popular combined community sports day with the Naha community, and supporting community work through the provision of equipment to individuals with the likes of Mr Casper Diua of the Vilu War Museum on the island of Guadacanal in the Solomon Islands which was donated by the Office of Australian War Graves that visited the site earlier this year.
The SIAF contingent consists of officers from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) and 20 Fiji Police officers deployed under Joint Task Force Cori Mada 3, and officers from the Australian Federal Police , New Zealand Police, Australian Defence Force, New Zealand Defence Force and the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary.
????20 police officers consisting of a specialist tactical team from the Police Mobile are working alongside the Republic of Fiji Military Forces actively supporting regional efforts.
