Meet Your Officers

Meet Police Corporal Vonivate Vateitei who is currently the Koro Island Community Post Officer.

Cpl Vateitei who hails from Visoto Village in Ovalau joined the Fiji Police in 2009 and currently leads the officers on Koro in working with communities to minimize crime and as of lately, to curb the cultivation of marijuana on the island.

During the Divisional Police Commander East (DPC/East) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Josua Vodo’s recent visit to the island as part of Operation Siro Sobu, Cpl Vateitei was badged and confirmed to the post having acted in the substantial rank since March 2022.

SSP Vodo said “With the limited resources, you are able to maintain amd control the crime situation and you would go out of your way to look after Police Officers who come here for work.

Your hard work and leadership is evident as we visited the villages".

SSP Vodo also thanked Cpl Vateitei's family for their support.

“Your family's support from behind the scenes has been tremendous and i acknowledge them for supporting the vision and the mission of the Fiji Police Force.”

The father of five said, “Hard work pays off. If you are dedicated and work hard, one day you will reap the rewards because there is always someone up there who is watching and one day, you will be blessed.” Cpl Vateitei said the nature of working with communities is never easy but he is glad that he has a family that supports him.

He plans to visit all the villages to thank them for supporting Police on Koro Island.
