Courtesy Visit


The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Fiji His Excellency Young-Kyu Park is looking forward to the formalization of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Korean National Police Agency and the Fiji Police Force.

This was conveyed during a recent courtesy visit to the Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew at the Fiji Police Headquarters.

Ambassador Park congratulated the Acting Commissioner on his appointment and extended an invitation to the International Police Summit scheduled to be held in October.

Ambassador Park conveyed their interests in formalizing the MOU on the margins of the International Police Summit to strengthen police to police cooperation between the two institutions.

Ambassador Park also discussed training and educational opportunities available at the Korean National Police University that were offering placements for foreign police officers for its Doctorate and Master’s Degree courses designed to nurture global talents earmarked to lead the future of policing.

In response, the Acting Commissioner of Police said the FPF looks forward to the formalization of the MOU, as well as taking up the training opportunities on offer.
