Recruits visited Seven Villagers for Community Work

The 185 Police Recruits from the Fiji Police Academy conducted community work at the seven villages of Muaivuso, Nabaka, Namakala, Waiqanake, Ucuinamono, Togalevu and Kalokolevu by planting tree fruit trees and conducting aerobics exercises and picking up rubbish around the 7 communities.

The Recruits consisting of officers from Fiji, Nauru Police Force and Tuvalu police service visited seven villagers along the Queens highway in the Southern Division as part of their Community visitations engagements aimed at enhancing their public speaking skills.

Also accompanying the recruits during the two day tour was New Zealand Police Senior Advisor Jasmine Woolet who is working in Fiji under the Fiji Police Partnership Programme.

The community visitation was welcomed by the elders and chiefs and its people, of the three “Vanua” of Navukavu, Natauvakarua and Tabaivalu.

Ucuinamono Village headman Penaia Balawa said the visit by the Recruits and the Community Policing officers from the Southern Division has left a lasting impression on their villagers.

“These officers have done wonderful work by visiting us and spending the night with us and we look forward to such visitations in the future from the Fiji Police Force,” he said “We are grateful for their work and their donations to the community,” he added.

Apart from planting fruit trees the Recruits had also donated rubbish bins and drums of kerosene.

The Recruits were divided into their seven squads.
