The Australian Federal Police (AFP) this morning handed over Cyber safety merchandise to the Fiji Police Community Policing Unit.
The Cyber Safety merchandise included T-Shirts, water bottles, pencil cases, Bucket Hats, key tags, etc.
Fiji Police Force Chief Operations Officer (COO) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu thanked the AFP on behalf of the Acting Commissioner of Police and stressed that the merchandise will be utilized in Community Awareness.
“The Focus now of the Fiji Police is on Community Policing. The keyword for the organization at the moment is “Partnership” and we are forming that through our Community Policing Initiative,” said ACP Driu.
He adds that Cyber Crime is a Global Issue at the moment and the Fiji Police Force will look to its partners for assistance especially in terms of awareness.
“Merchandise on cyber safety will remind our children on the dangers in this technological area and I would like to thank AFP for this wonderful initiative,” said ACP Driu.
AFP Liaison Officer Superintendent of Police (SP) Adrian Morton said almost everyone in Fiji are digitally connected through phones.
SP Morton said the merchandise will be a constant reminder to our children on the Cyber threats that exists today and he acknowledged the partnership between the AFP and the Fiji Police Force.
