MEET Police Constable Tomasi Qarau Turagaiviu based at the Sigatoka Police Station.
The young Constable from Vatani, Kaba, Bau, Tailevu joined the Fiji Police Force on the 15th of November, 2021.
Sigatoka Police Station is where the former Nasinu Secondary School student found himself deployed to after successfully completing his Basic Recruits Course Training as a member of Batch 62.
PC Turagaiviu said he is thoroughly enjoying his time serving in Sigatoka and had recently signed up for sign language training to boost his abilities to communicate with members of his community.
“As a police officer I have to serve all people that need my help, and with this training I am able to communicate with those that communicate in sign language and be able to help them if they need assistance,” he said.
The training conducted by the Nadi Special School is held every Saturday for two hours.
Constable Turagaiviu is one of the two officers selected to pilot the sign language training for Sigatoka Police.
