an important component of that blue culture, is our investigation arm”.

The one month Investigators Course Level 2 was officially opened by the Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew at the Fiji Police Academy this morning.

Attending the course are 38 police officers from the five policing divisions.

The Acting Commissioner of Police in his official opening address said, “As most of you would be aware now, our line Minster has made his intent known, which is to bring back blue, and when we talk about the blue culture in policing, an important component of that blue culture, is our investigation arm”.

The Acting Commissioner said every investigation or report received should be given the same level of priority as Police are gauged on the successful outcomes of investigations.

“A lot of resources are injected into every investigation, whether it be a minor or serious case. Every case has its own challenges and merits, but there is one common denominator and that is the complainant”.

“At the end of the day, we are here to ensure the complainant is satisfied with the actions taken with their reports. It may not always end up in court, but the regular feedback in letting them know of the efforts made, I can guarantee, will mean so much to them”.

Investigating officers from Rotuma, Kadavu and the Northern Division are part of this one month training.
