The President of the CWU in Fiji, Mrs Wendy Fang, handed over 2 Desktop Computer sets


Donations from the Chinese Womens Union (CWU) in Fiji will go a long way in boosting community policing of the Southern Division, says Divisional Police Commander Southern (DPC South) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pita Keni.

The President of the CWU in Fiji, Mrs Wendy Fang, handed over 2 Desktop Computer sets, 1 laptop, 2 buckets of paint, 2 sets of emergency lights, 12 chairs and 10 boxes of sanitary packs to the Southern Division Community Policing Unit yesterday.

DPC South, SSP Keni received the donated items on behalf of the Fiji Police Force and said the items will be used by the Community Policing Unit to boost their community engagements.

Divisional Manager Community Policing Southern Division (DMCP South) Acting Superintendent of Police (Act SP) Ruci Nasemira said the donated items will be used at vulnerable communities within their policing division. 

“The Sanitary packs will be handed over to the two hospitals in our division which is Navua and Makoi,” she said

“We are looking at using the donated paint at one of vulnerable community halls within our division as our project to assist the identified community,” she added.

DMCP South said the computers will be used to by the Unit to assist in their daily operations.

The handing over was done during the double celebration by SD women officers commemorating the International Women’s Day and its theme #EmbraceEquity, and the Hindu Festival of Colors known as Holi, at the Southern Division Command Centre (SDCC) yesterday
