Embrace Equity says Ms. Takayawa

In line with this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) theme, a long serving accounts clerk in the Fiji Police Force says it is important to “Embrace Equity” because it ensures everyone is successful in whatever role they play in an organization.

45-year-old Joana Takayawa, a senior Accounts Clerk in the Fiji Police Force says having the right equipment and resources that best fits a staff’s personality and strengths, ensures maximum productivity outputs.

“When people are placed in an environment that they are familiar with and have the experience for it, and are given the necessary resources and support, they will be able to produce the best results in their work,” said Miss Takayawa

A familiar face to members of the Police Force and to anyone visiting the accounts department, Ms Takayawa has been working in the FPF Accounts Department for 20 years, and prior to this she was working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ms Takayawa is a Widow as she lost her husband in 2015, and the mother of 2, hails from Buliya Village in Kadavu and she wishes everyone to “Embrace Equity” in whatever work they do.

“Lets embrace equity together” she said.

International Women's Day provides an important opportunity for groups worldwide to embrace and cultivate an ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

IWD will be celebrated on 8th of March this year, and it provides an important opportunity to fundraise for female-focused charities, help raise their visibility, and amplify awareness raising efforts.
