Fatal Accident

A 23-year old man from Wainiveidio, Navua died after he was allegedly bumped by a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man along the Tokotoko Highway in Navua.

The incident occurred at around 4pm yesterday.

The victim allegedly jumped in front of the suspect’s vehicle resulting in the accident.

He was rushed to the Navua Hospital by a passing vehicle but was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.

In another alleged fatal accident, a 46-year old woman died following a motor vehicle accident along the Kings Road, Nailaga, Ba yesterday.

The victim was being conveyed in an ambulance to the Lautoka Hospital when it is alleged the 40-year-old driver overtook two vehicles and bumped a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old man causing their vehicles to veer off the road.

The victim was rushed to the Ba Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.

The road death toll stands at 3 compared to 0 for the same period last year.
