6 Year Old Child's Body Recovered From River

A 6 year old child is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim. The victim was swimming with her sister at the Navatuvula River near Raralevu Village on Sunday when she disappeared.

A search conducted by villagers managed to recover the victim’s body a few meters from where she had disappeared. A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Investigations continue.

The drowning death toll currently stands at 3 compared to 8 for the same period last year.
