Woman dies in road accident

A 45 year old woman from Namosau Ba died after the vehicle she was travelling in veered off the Road near Moto, Yalalevu in Ba. The accident occurred yesterday morning.

The victim was a passenger in a van driven by a 39year old man and was heading towards Nadi when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle.

Nine other passengers were also travelling in the van including four children aged 10, 8, 5 and 4.

All nine passengers received serious injuries and are admitted at the Lautoka Hospital.

The driver is admitted at the Ba Mission Hospital in stable condition. Investigations continue.

The road death toll currently stands at 2 compared to 12 for the same period last year.
