Basketball Fiji Presentation

Basketball Fiji yesterday presented the Mixed Basketball Business Tournament Spoils to the Commissioner of Police, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho.

The Police Tritons are the Champions of the Mixed Business House Tournament.

Presenting the winning shield and the prize money was the President of Basketball Fiji and Former Commissioner of Police Brigadier General (Ret.) Iowane Naivalurua.

Mr Naivalurua said the Police Tritons Basketball Club has embraced the Fiji Police Policy in policing Fiji through Sports.

“I must congratulate you in taking up Basketball as one of your sporting events and eventually you have become winners in this years tournament,” said Mr Naivalurua.

The Basketball President said they look forward to working with Police in developing the sport further in to other Communities.

The Commissioner of Police thanked Basketball Fiji for taking time out to meet with the Fiji Police Basketball Officials today.

“Rugby has always been our focus in Policing through Sports.

Now basketball has been added to the mix and I thank all of those involved.”

Commissioner Qiliho said he looks forward working with Basketball Fiji in developing the game in communities and also hope that one day he will join the team in the basketball court.
