IP ELVIN ATTAINS GRADUATE CERTIFICATE


Congratulations to Inspector (IP) Elvin Prasad for attaining a Graduate Certificate in Applied Management for Policing and Emergency Services from the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM).

IP Prasad received his Graduate Certificate from the Director of the Pacific Faculty of Policing Ms Amanda McCormick at the Australian High Commission in Suva.

According to the AIPM, the Graduate Certificate is a six month personal and organisational commitment to education and leadership development.

Organisational leadership is the key focus of the education with codified knowledge and personal experience underpinning the practice of academic research, argument and writing skills - all being highly regarded skills for effective leadership. The 39-year old Inspector who is originally from Navua acknowledged the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho and senior hierarchy for supporting the opportunity to further his studies.

"It was challenging with the time difference between Australia and Fiji and I had to adjust work and studies and at times forgoing online lectures if I was busy at work".

“I would like to thank AIPM and the Australian Federal Police for giving me this opportunity".

IP Prasad has spent 16 years as a member of the Fiji Police Force and also has a Bachelor in Accounting has this advice to youths.

"Never give up, there are many opportunities provided, apply and pursue. Progress through higher education and hard work".

The Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM) is an educational organisation with an extensive history in educating public safety leaders.

The AIPM plans to continue with the same program next year.
