PINKTOBER AWARENESS


Women officers were urged to prioritize their health and well-being.

The call was made by cancer survivor and Fiji Police’s Deputy Director Forensic Science Services Superintendent of Police [SP] Margaret Marshall during a PINKTOBER awareness event held at the Fiji Police Academy.

Also in attendance were New Zealand Police Senior Advisors Mr Brent Murray and Ms. Margo Hall who are based at the Academy while working on the multi-million dollar Fiji Police Partnership Programme supported by the New Zealand Government.

SP Marshall shared her experience in battling Cancer stressing that the disease was beatable through early detection and proper medical treatment.

Stressing the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, SP Marshall said being active was also important and urged the officers to take the quarterly Required Fitness Tests seriously.

Other senior women officers in attendance also pledged to assist, support and encourage healthy living among fellow women officers.

The meet also culminated in the collection of $700 which will be donated to the Fiji Cancer Society.
