Officers depart for Kadavu

A team of Police officers will depart for Kadavu tonight to assist their comrades based at the Kadavu Police Station and support efforts of the Ministry of Health in light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases on the island.

The Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan said the situation in Kadavu called for an all hands on deck approach in support of the Ministry of Health's efforts while at the same time ensuring routine police operations were not impacted.

ACP Khan said the situation would determine the duration of their deployment and thanked the officers and their families for their support as it would mean having to sacrifice time away from their loved ones.
