Drowning

A 21year old student is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim.

The victim was swimming with another student near Matata Settlement in Lami when he failed to surface and was found motionless under water.

Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was conveyed to the Lami Health Center where he was pronounced dead.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

The drowning death toll currently stands at 6 compared to 1 for the same period last year.
