Mobile Command Unit

The Police Special Response Unit (PSRU) Mobile Command team has now set up its operations in Raiwaqa near the Jittu Estate settlement as the second phase of the mobile operations comes into force.

The concept which was initially trialled at Mead Road saw the deployment of the Mobile Command Unit to densely populated areas where officers from the PSRU played a supporting role to ongoing operational efforts on the ground.

While the Mobile Command Unit has pulled out from Mead Road, a small team is still operating in the area.

The team will compliment the existing work conducted by the Southern Division Operations and will work with Community Policing in working with members of nearby communities in strengthening crime prevention efforts.

The setting up of the Mobile Unit today was also supported by the management of Rups Big Bear and Inter Island Freight Services Limited.
