Compol commended members of two joint university in Fiji

The Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has commended the efforts of members of the joint University of the South Pacific and Fiji National University Kadavu Students Association in pursuing an educational tour to assist youths on the island.

Members of the joint Association out of their concern over the prevailing issues impacting their province, have acknowledged their role in empowering the youth of Kadavu on the island with constructive opportunities.

The Commissioner was invited to speak to the youths on Friday night whereby he commended the future leaders for their ambition.

“This show of unity is encouraging and I salute you for your commitment in keeping alive the links to your vanua that would otherwise be lost in the faced pace world we are living in.”

“In the past one month alone, more than 3 tons of marijuana has been uprooted from Kadavu. This is worrying – because it paints the island as a ‘Red Zone’ and if that is the Kadavu of today – then what will the Kadavu of tomorrow look like?”

Commissioner Tudravu challenged the youth and future leaders by stating, “I believe I am looking at a group that is able to make an impact. But you must get involved. If you care about protecting Kadavu, you need to get involved and this joint outreach is a great way to start.”

“You are the leaders of tomorrow. When you choose to help your yasana today, the Kadavu of tomorrow will be one of hope, prosperity and one you can all be proud.”

The proposed Educational Youth Empowerment Tour aims to raise awareness, foster ambition, and encourage positive contributions to society. The youths have pledged to assist in changing the negative perception about their province through engagements with their peers.
