Reform and Restructure review

#Vinakavakalevu New Zealand Police for supporting the Fiji Police Force’s efforts of ensuring robust and effective policing systems to combat crimes.

The support was channeled towards the Reform and Restructure review of the Fiji Police's human resource capabilities, taking into consideration the growing demands on policing, with the aim of putting forward a new submission, able to meet policing demands in 5 to 10 years-time.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu acknowledged with sincere appreciation the support rendered by the New Zealand Police under the Fiji Police Partnership Programme (FPPP) stating it was in line with his overarching intent of achieving stability resulting in growth.

The exercise conducted over the weekend will also assist with the Fiji Police Force’s 2025 – 2026 budget submissions for the resourcing of adequate manpower and resources for effective policing.

Commissioner Tudravu had identified the Reform and Restructure as a key focus area in addressing human resource needs considering the growing demands on policing.

The earlier exercise was scheduled for completion in 2022, and the new submission will also include new specialised units that were established out of necessity to address emerging crime trends.

The review is also in line with the Fiji National Development Plan 2025 – 2029.
