Suspect arrested in a stoning incident in Nabua

A suspect is in custody for his alleged involvement in a stoning incident along Ratu Mara Road in Nabua last night.

The suspect is alleged to have stoned a police vehicle after 9pm.

The Southern Division Task Force arrested the suspect and are pursuing the second suspect, whose identity is known to Police.

The Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said such incidents will not be condoned and members of the public are urged to cooperate with police in working together towards crime prevention and reduction efforts.

“Officers are working around the clock to arrest the second suspect. Such incidents against police officers and the organisation's efforts towards service delivery will not be taken lightly, as it derails the momentum of service delivery. We need to be working together, and not against each other if we are to achieve the overall intent of safe communities for all."
