30 year old charged for scam

A 30 year old woman has been charged by the Fiji Police Cyber task force for an alleged case of obtaining financial advantage by deception.

It is alleged that on the 3rd day of February 2024, the victim had sent $600 to the number provided by the accused through an online advertisement for an Iphone for sale.

The victim, after sending the money, tried numerous times to contact the accused who cut off all communication.

The matter was then reported at the Totogo Police Station.

The accused has been charged with one count of obtaining financial advantage by deception and will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
