Partnership continues to grow


The Fiji Police Partnership Programme (FPPP) Executive Steering Committee met at the Fiji Police Force Headquarters yesterday to provide an update on the current status of the joint partnership.

The FPPP is a New Zealand Government funded program formalised under the Duavata Partnership Agreement between Fiji and New Zealand with the intent of enhancing capacity and capabilities of the Fiji Police Force across the outputs of;

1 Development of Investigative Interviewing capability.

2 Development of General Patrol Dog capability (K9).

3 Asset Recovery Support.

4 Development of Leadership & Governance capability and

5 the newly introduced Officer Safety Programme (OSP)

FPPP Team Leader Inspector Joe Hunter provided an overview brief of the 2024 Work Plan and proposed 2025 work plan and discussed and assessed programme risks, and the management and progress of any significant risks to the programme.

An update on the Officer Safety Programme was also provided as well as the OSP 2025 work plan.

Other issues discussed were the K9 capability programmes, training and investigative outputs and the progress on the Video Recorded Interviews.
