Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police


The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Fiji, His Excellency Rokuichiro Michi paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Mr Rusiate Tudravu yesterday.

Mr Michi acknowledged the head of Police for taking time out to receive him adding the visit was a chance to explore a few new avenues in assisting the Fiji Police Force.

He informed the Commissioner that they are aware of the good work of the Police in keeping everyone safe.

“Our tourists often come over for a visit our children have been sent here to learn and they work closely with Police in regards to their safety,” said Mr Michi.

He said the Embassy of Japan in Fiji has numerous projects underway around the country which will generate employment opportunities.

Commissioner Tudravu acknowledged the support of the Japanese Government towards policing efforts.

“The Rib Boats have come in handy and they are assisting us in our drug operations. This capability has given us the edge of monitoring our waters of any drug or illegal activities,” Both parties have also mutually agreed to explore more training opportunities in specialised fields of policing.
