Strengthening partnerships between Police and the public and private sectors for safer communities in the Northern Division was discussed at length during the Northern Division Crime Stoppers Board Meeting in Labasa yesterday.
The Divisional Police Commander North, Acting Senior Superintendent of Police (A/SSP) Kemueli Baledrokadroka assured the Northern Division Crime Stoppers Board of rectifying issues raised during yesterday’s meeting.
Some of the issues raised included, the manning of the Crime Stoppers emergency lines, response times and enhancing community engagements.
CS North President Mr Kalyan Sharma and Vice President Paul Jaduram also asked for support during the International Crime Free Week to be commemorated from September 28th – 30th which will focus on highlighting the importance of collaboration with the private sectors.
A/SSP Baledrokadroka assured the CS North Board that all issues raised by members of the public and stakeholders were taken seriously and as constructive criticism, and will work towards improving service delivery as police need the support of the community.
