Interim Prefect Induction

Police officers and Prefects share similarities in the maintenance of law and order.

Sentiments shared by the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Crime (ACP/C) Sakeo Raikaci to students of Dilkusha Methodist High School during their Interim Prefect Induction yesterday afternoon.

The purpose of the Interim Prefect Induction was to badge selected Year 11 students who will take over the role of prefects while Year 12 and 13 prefects focus on their studies in the next term.

“It’s a wonderful initiative as it also encourages a sense of partnerships, by working together for a common good, which in this case are positive outcomes for the two major external exams,” said ACP Raikaci.

He reminded the interim prefects that the Prefects badge when used in the spirit of generosity and understanding, can yield a great deal of good.

“Once badged, you and I shoulder the same responsibilities in the protection of life and property, preserving the peace, and helping those in need of assistance. We are both entrusted with the maintenance of law and order, myself in public, and yours here in school.”

He reminded them that the oaths they take should never be taken lightly.

ACP Raikaci also congratulated the school in attaining an impressive 97% pass for the Fiji Seventh Form Examination and 90% pass rate for the Fiji School Leaving Certificate last year.
