Scam Alert

Another online scam has surfaced and the Fiji Police Cybercrime Unit is asking that you check, double and triple check the number messaging you before you send money.

Some have sent money to those they think are their relatives based on the profile photos, only to discover later that the telephone numbers belonged to someone else.

That’s the latest trend.

The scammers will use the profile photo of someone you know, and use that as their profile to solicit money.

Please check the telephone numbers carefully before you commit to sending money.
