Motorcyclist and Defensive Driving Training Course


The Motorcyclist and Defensive Driving Training Course to be delivered by Fijian Police Officers to their comrades with the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services was officially opened this morning by Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo.

The training will assist the Samoa Police in their preparations to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2024, and is the first of many deployments under the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) program under the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police where the sharing of training resources for the Pacific by the Pacific is the intent.

Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo acknowledged Fiji’s Acting Commissioner Juki Fong Chew for the release of the Training officers.

“We acknowledge through the Samoa Police Partnership, PCLEC and Acting Commissioner Chew in the conduct of this training to prepare our officers to deliver the best service to the people of Samoa and to the world when Samoa hosts the CHOGM Meeting in 2024.

The training team consists of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Basant Rai, Inspector Josefa Rakaseta, Corporal Kaminieli Sovu, Police Constable Semisi Nadumu and Team Liaison Officer Superintendent of Police Ilaitia Caginavanua.
