Train the Trainers Workshop

The pilot Lautoka Community Policing train the trainer workshop co-facilitated by the Fiji National Sports Commission and Lautoka Community Policing Team conducted at the Pacific Polytech, Lautoka Sanatan Campus came to an end with 45 youths empowered on how to utilise sports as a proactive prevention tool un curbing illegal activities.

During the workshop, a Lautoka community Post Sports Association was also established.

The Association will be responsible for organizing a mini tournament where each Police Post within the Lautoka area will be providing 4 youth netball, volleyball, soccer & rugby teams as a means of forging stronger Police Community relations.

The workshop was closed by the Assistant Commissioner of Operations (ACP/O) Livai Driu who commended the joint efforts in bringing together youths using the popular sporting platform.

Vinaka vakalevu to Fiji National Sports Commission for the provision of sporting equipment that will go towards helping the youth teams prepare for the upcoming tournament.
