Senior executives of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police and Pacific Faculty of Policing paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew this morning.
PICP Executive Coordinator Ms Loretta Hunt-Tevaga and Ms Jane Blair the Programme Director for the Pacific Faculty of Policing called on Acting Commissioner Chew at the Police Headquarters where discussions revolved around up-coming regional development opportunities.
The two executives also aknowledged the Fiji Police’s role in leading regional empowerment programs through various development training opportunities and ongoing police to police cooperation exchange programmes amongst regional law enforcement agencies.
Gender empowerment programs were also discussed as Ms Hunt-Tevaga and Ms Blair thanked the Acting Commissioner for the participation of senior women police officers in regional trainings and workshops.
Fijian Police officers have been and are currently seconded to the PICP, while the partnership between the Fiji Police and the Pacific Faculty of Policing has seen numerous police officers from Corporals to senior management level, provided educational opportunities at the Australian Institute of Police Management supported learning institution.
