Meet your officers

Meet Sergeant Mere Mataki serving at the Prosecution Unit at Police Headquarters at Centrepoint Nasinu.

Sergeant Mere who is a Police Prosecutor has served for 9 years in various Stations and Units including the Nadi Police Station, Nadi Sexual Offences Unit, Nadi Prosecution Unit and Southern Division Prosecution Unit based at the Suva Court House.

Originally from Lagi Village in Dogotuki Macuata, the 29-year-old has maternal links to Dogoru Village in Wailevu Macuata, and received her secondary school education at Waiqele College in Labasa.

Sergeant Mere says working in the various units has been an interesting journey, with its challenges, but she has learned a lot from her experiences.

Her message for school children that will return to school next week is to have a strong belief in one’s self.

“Work hard and believe in yourself, believe that you can achieve anything you set out to achieve this year,” she said.
