Farewell for SSP Marika Yalimaiwai

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Marika Yalimaiwai was today officially farewelled by the Fiji Police Force at the Fiji Police Academy where he had spent the last ..years of his career as the Director Training and Education.

SSP Yalimaiwai bid farewell to a 34year career as a member of the Fiji Police Force having marched in as a young recruit in 1986.

Acknowledging the support of the current and former Commissioner’s of Police, SSP Yalimaiwai said he could stand tall and pround in having achieved a lot in his career, not only in the life of service in Fiji and in mission areas he has served, but having being part of the Training cadre for decades, he is happy to have seen many of the officers who have come through the Academy gates doing well in their own careers, and that will be a legacy he gladly leaves behind.

SSP Yalimaiwai also acknowledged the support of his family as the policing life has been a challenging one.

He called on the Academy staff, recruits and members of the Stations Sergeant’s Course to keep in mind that they were in the Force to serve and be beacons of hope to those in trouble and in need.

We wish SSP Yalimaiwai all the best in his retirement.
