FPF WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT

The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has assured the Nauru Police Force Commissioner Iven Notte of the Fiji Police’s continued support.

The two Commissioners met ahead of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Annual Conference on Wednesday at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa in Nadi.

Commissioner Notte thanked Commissioner Qiliho for Fiji’s support in terms of the secondment of officers to Fiji, police recruit training and is looking to the Fiji Police for more training in specialized fields of policing.

The head of the Nauruan Police Force said they were looking at growing their Forensic capabilities and would appreciate the assistance of their Fijian comrades.

Fiji’s Commissioner Brigadier General Qiliho assured Commissioner Notte of the organisation’s support.

While congratulating Commissioner Notte for their first United Nations Peacekeeping mission deployment last month, he said the Fiji Police would also assist with pre-deployment training if needed, as the FPF had certified UN Instructors.

Brigadier General Qiliho said they would relook at a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.
