The evolving network surrounding the Narcotics trade means constantly reviewing and upskilling officers to be on par with the latest criminal trends.
Thanks to partners Joint Interagency Task Force West - JIATF West, Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA and supported by U.S. Embassy Suva, 25 officers from the Narcotics Bureau and the Criminal Investigation Department recently completed a weeklong course focused on exposing officers to Crime Scene Management, Operational Planning, Money laundering and Narcotics Investigation, Evidence Handling, Mobile Device Exploitation, Report Writing Surveillance.
The training held from the 25th to 29th of July at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service gave the officers the opportunity to put into practice the concept of practical exercises exposing the officers to real life scenarios on possible criminal threats while focusing on Officer's safety.
It also allowed the officers to be on par with the evolving network surrounding Narcotics Investigation and criminal activities.
