Fatal Accident

A 50-year old man is alleged to have died following a motor vehicle accident in Lautoka this morning.

The victim was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 20-year old man.

The alleged incident occurred after 1am.

The suspect whilst driving along the Vuda Bridge lost control of the vehicle whereby their car landed in a river.

The driver managed to free himself from the car, however the victim was trapped inside.

His body was retrieved by divers and is now being kept at the Lautoka Hospital Mortuary.

The 20-year old driver is in custody at the Lautoka Police Station as investigations continue.
