Nine officers successfully complete pre-deployment training

The nine officers who had successfully completed two weeks of Pre-Deployment training were advised by the Chief of Intelligence and Investigation Assistant Commissioner of Police Biu Matavou that the mission field is demanding.

He adds it has shifted from Peacekeeping to Peace building.

While officiated at the closing ceremony today at the Fiji Police Academy , ACP Matavou reminded officers that they had been selected for a purpose and the need for them to serve to the best of their ability and for the nation as a whole is vital.

“We officers are to assist in resolving conflicts and to have an integrated approach which is an important aspect of the mandated UN Standards”, he said.

Out of the nine officers, three will be leaving for South Sudan soon while the remaining 6 will be heading to Dafur in a short while.

Three of these successful officers are women.
